Webster Township was settled in the spring of 1855. It is named after Ferris Webster, who settled in the township a year later and operated a store. A post office was established in 1879 in the same building as a store, with a creamery nearby. Webster Township is located in Rice County, Minnesota, United States and includes the unincorporated communities of Hazelwood, Little Chicago, and Webster. The population was 1,825 at the 2000 census.
